I signed up for this system about two weeks ago. Trading seems nothing short of insane. It leaves me wondering what the H*** are they thinking. Markets moving up, lets go short, markets moving down, lets go long. Can not make up our mind, lets go long, then short, then long, and lose money on every trade along the way. I trying to hang on but it is very frustrating.
THE SUBSCRIBER PERSPECTIVE
Strategy reviews
Real experiences. In subscribers' own words.
Read what worked, what didn't, and what it was like to follow a strategy.
It is quite puzzling and infuriating that a system using some software called PrecisionTrader 5.3 can be so imprecise, jumping around and reversing positions left and right.
Glory Trades
Looks GloryTrades knows well what is doing and i like the strategy.
This system has turned out to be a bad joke. I too was put off by the developer's hype and videos that tell you basically nothing but was sucked in by the early performance. It turns out the system is not really diversified as claimed - even though he buys funds in commodities, currencies and stock indices, he keeps flipping them from long to short and back, using the same lousy timing. Being diversified is supposed to be somewhat of a hedge, but in this case it assures that you lose money on all fronts.
The current market whipsaws on any media information, not technicals or fundamentals. So dont expect any of these technical systems to perform consistantly until this shrewish market is behind us,, months at least.
daily income
In tracking this system, daily income, for the past couple of weeks I have yet to see profits exceed commissions. At $8.86 per r/t the more it trades for small point gains the more it loses.
ONE'N'GO
I subscribed to, and then quickly abandoned, this system when it became apparent that risk management was inadequate and stops were, to all appearances, nonexistent.
DAX Catching
Adds to position when it runs against trader. Requires large capital and risks are substantial.
GermanFX
I subscribed to this system about 6 months ago... The only word I would like to use to describe my experiance with it would be a "WINNER"...
As the previous few posters mentioned, I am not quite sure what indicators are being used here. System has lately been buying overbought and selling oversold. System even incorrectly entered a long order on an inverse ETF last week, causing a $400 loss before it was corrected. Vendor claimed to be "looking into the cause", but have not heard anything since. Keep this one on a short rope.
This system makes no sense to me whatsoever. It exited a large position today at small profit, only to try to reenter it 6 hours later after the ETF had climbed by more than $3 a share over the course of the day. More than 3K missed gain by not staying put for a few more hours. Not sure where his indicators are coming from but I cannot say I trust them. I am sitting out until this system figures out where it is going and its equity curve starts heading upwards.
Glory Trades
I have looked at the entries of this system and like all the setups. This possition T.. looks likes it is going to fly very good, I know it is a very young system but I just jumped on autotrading.
forex trends
Developer has demonstrated the ability to be profitable but there are some significant problems with the system that became apparent upon subscribing including inconsistent risk control and rapid shifts from short term/position trading to day trading. Auto trading is a must due to developers time zone.
ETF Timer
Ok now this is making no sense at all. Today signaled what is most likely to be another losing trade. 30 percent acct size buy. Where was this trade 2 weeks ago at cycle lows?? Personally I do not trade this system directly - choosing to use it as a trending confirmation for my own trades for the last 2 years. Unfortunately now it is of no value. Jim I suggest you offer all subscribers for say the past year, a 6 month subscription to the "new", OLD method of trading this to see if it can get back on track with timing. 2 week trial is not enough to warrant continued subscriptions. I am rating as "fair" because of some past performance and correlation.
JayTrader Two
I have designed and evaluated many Trading Systems over the past 20 years. As a degreed statistician, I can say that JayTrader2 is one of the few systems which I have seen that is both easy to trade, ie, low maintenance, and yet provides very good real life and backtested results. While I normally do not put too much stock in systems which have only traded live for a few months, hence the reason for not rating
JayTrader2 as "Exceptional", both the theoretrical and practical underpinnings of this system are solid. Most impressive to me is that even the short trades have been profitable during this recent market rally. I will be ramping up my size very soon.
VFL system
I have joined this system one month ago. Vendor usually send orders between friday and Sunday, and for the moment, I´m very happy, because I have a full time job, so I don´t have much time to watch the market day and night, and this system is a perfect set and forget system, but drawdown is a bit high. For this reason I rate as "very good".
daily income
In a nutshell the system looks like it works. I used the demo account with auto trader, and its up $675 in a week.
I would highly recommend having auto-trade enabled, because their can be a quick succession of buys, cancels, stops & sells.
ETF Timer
I joined 5/5/2010...........need I say more? Bottom line, I have lost $$$ trading his system and his system during my tenure has sucked.
emini independence
The description of the system keeps changing. It used to say "low risk" "high reward system" and brag about a 38 run with small drwadown. Also the time the sytem trades keeps changing. It was a 24 hr system ,then it wasnt, then it was again. Now that it has had a 20 percent + drawdown in a single day , my advice is dont walk away from this system.....RUN!
ETF Timer
My short experience with this system is quite bad since I din't see yet a positive trade. It was a petty to see some postive trades closed when they turned negative. The fact that the develloper change his strategy it's a bad sign for me and may signal the start of the end of the present system. I'm thinking to cancel my subsription during the running month.
mvp-3
Amazing. This system is almost back to the equity it started with. Unfortunately I joined in April or 2009. Too much lost w/ MVP-3. There have been so many changes I don't know what this system is anymore.
ETF Timer
I think Jim has an obvious option for keeping all subscribers and potentially attracting others.
The model account is still big enough to be split to two systems, one with intra-day signals for autotraders and one with the current EOD style for other subscribers.
It seems that with the current style in the current market the system can't make money or at least keep the profits.
Since my subscription is nearing it's end I don't plan to renew it unless Jim introduces intra-day signals (or changes the market but is unlikely :-)).
My rating reflects my current impression. In the past ETF Timer was exceptionally good.
ETF Timer
I have been a subscriber to the system since April. I have been trading the Nasdaq 100 for a long time and I will say that I have been unable to produce the consistent returns that this system has. Couple of observations: The system seems a little sluggish reacting to trend changes. Sometimes there is a clear change of trend and the system will close the trade and wait for 3-4 days and open the next trade. I think the draw downs can be minimized by trading more frequently and going immediately from long to short or vice versa. Capital allocation is outstanding. 20% usually to open and max at 55% considering this is a leveraged fund. Keep in mind the system is still up 10% for the year and outperforming the market.
ETF Timer
I've been a subscriber since May 1st. The latest closed out trade put me slightly in the red now which is not a reason for me to give up yet. I think it's just been the summer doldrums for the ETF Timer and the market as well. Big money "sold in May and went away" and market volume has dried up since. Hopefully the big money and trading volume will come back to the market after Labor Day and the timer will profit again. I'm being patient. But, I'll have to give it a fair rating due to the flat performance I've experienced over the past 4 months.
ETF Timer
Although the system almost had five consecutive loosing hands since early June, the entry points seem useful. I replicated his entries, but closed positions when profit was reasonable, including the latest trading that I closed my positions on 08/30. Therefore, among his last five trades, I had three winning hands. The exit indicator the developer is using seems not sensitive enough in the current market.
